I tried the
Saturday night fun that Randy Seaver always posts over on his great blog, but I didn't get around to finishing it until this morning. So, here are my two results. The first is just a raw list of names and I didn't do anything to the counts. It was interesting because it reflects which names at the most prominent in my database. Somtimes it is just because there were large families and I happen to have entered all the children I found. [I can't figure out how to make there bigger, so if you are intersted you'll have to click on them to really see them]
The second is on that I "forced" to optimize the names roughly by generation - how closely they were to me (or my sister's children in the case of her husband's family.) I think I like the second one better.
Thanks Randy for pointing out this
fun site for creating these "Wordles"!!
Diane,
ReplyDeleteI had a time figuring out how to use it because the toolbars will not show for me. I did upgrade my Java, but it still would not show. May have had too many users, or I don't have enough memory. How did you get it to link from your site to the Wordles page? Did you save it? I wanted to just put the image on my site, but could not figure out how I could save it to my harddrive. When I gave it my URL, it used my website to create the words and not the text file I used.
It was so pretty, I wanted to use it as a background image on my PC.
Hi Teresa ~
ReplyDeleteIt took me a little while to figure it out...and I still don't know how to make it appear bigger here. But I had to save it to their gallery and then it gave me html code. I just pasted that into my post and it put the Wordle in my post. I would be cool to use as a background! But it doesn't seem to let you save the picture as a picture - at least I couldn't figure that out.
I finally did figure it out! You do a print screen and then pull what you want out using a photoediting software. I got mine the way I wanted, though I never could see the Toolbars and I print screened it. Then I blew it up using irfanview to fit my desktop size and then used that as my background on my computer. The colors go really well in my office and since I use two monitors, you can see it most of the time. It looks really sharp. And I can see at a glance the names I need to stay focused on. LOL
ReplyDeleteCOOL - don't know why I didn't think of the print screen thing...I now have mine set as my background - and it looks awesome. :-)
